Mercedes Perez invited as guest faculty at Health Justice Program


Mercedes Perez was invited to present as guest faculty at the Health Justice Program’s Tuesday lecture series.  The Health Justice Program is a novel primary care partnership in Canada between the St. Michael’s Hospital Academic Family Health Team and several local/ specialty legal aid clinics in downtown Toronto.  The lecture series was certified for educational accreditation by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Local Chapter.

Mercedes Perez, along with fellow faculty member Dr. Bill Sullivan, presented on consent, capacity, decision-making and advance care directives.  Part of the discussion centered on “ableism” and supported decision-making.
